2. What was decided
The next cycle has three parts:
- Read: spacecraft thermal management for LEO platforms — heat transfer in vacuum, radiator design, heat transport, thermal storage, heaters, multi-node modeling, and thermal vacuum test correlation.
- Wonder: autonomous thermal management and heat trading — how the desktop predicts temperatures, schedules heat-generating tasks, moves heat between cells, and protects itself during eclipse or radiator failure.
- Test: thermal balance and thermal vacuum verification — proving that the platform maintains temperatures within limits through realistic orbital hot and cold cases, with autonomous thermal control active.
These three activities support each other. The reading defines the physical layer of orbital heat transfer. The wondering explores whether the platform can manage its own thermal budget. The test verifies that the thermal subsystem works as intended.
