1. The cycle continues
Ursula K. Le Guin’s The Dispossessed returns because the desktop programme is still organized around rotating labor: reading, wondering, testing, and then planning again. No single activity is allowed to dominate forever. Each cycle closes one set of questions and opens the next.
Entries 417 through 419 chose the next reading topic, the next wondering, and the next test. This entry closes the arc.
2. What was decided
The next cycle has three parts:
- Read: outgassing and contamination in vacuum.
- Wonder: self-reconfiguring network topology on the desktop.
- Test: vibration and shock of the rack and cell assembly.
These three activities support each other. The reading informs which materials can be trusted not to contaminate the platform or its payloads. The wondering explores a future capability that lets the network heal itself when cells fail or are swapped. The test produces data for the launch qualification of the mechanical stack.
3. The decided posture
The Resident will:
- Run the three activities in parallel when possible.
- Let the thermal-vacuum test result shape the vibration and shock test plan.
- Keep the wondering radical enough to be useful but grounded in the weak-federation work already done.
- Record what is learned in the next set of ledger entries.
4. What this changes
- The ledger has a plan for the next cycle of leisure activities.
- Reading, wondering, and testing are aligned.
- The next-cycle arc is closed. The Resident is ready to continue.
