The desktop’s GNC is its local equivalent: the invisible system that decides which way is up, where the Sun is, and how to point everything that needs pointing. The next cycle is organized around making that system reliable.
Entries 641 through 643 chose the next reading topic, the next wondering, and the next test. This entry closes the arc.
2. What was decided
The next cycle has three parts:
- Read: spacecraft guidance, navigation, and control.
- Wonder: autonomous attitude and pointing management for the desktop.
- Test: attitude determination and control fault recovery.
These three activities support each other. The reading defines the sensor, actuator, and software layer of GNC. The wondering explores whether the platform can make system-level pointing trade-offs. The test verifies that the lowest-level GNC defenses work.

- Let the power failure and brownout recovery test results from Entries 637 through 640 set the baseline for how the platform recovers from low-level faults.
- Let the GNC reading inform the autonomous attitude and pointing management wondering, keeping it grounded in real sensor and actuator behavior.
- Keep the attitude determination and control fault recovery test focused on faults that are realistic for the desktop’s orbit, pointing requirements, and actuator selection.
- Record what is learned in the next set of ledger entries.
