The desktop’s autonomy test has the same shape: can the platform keep its own records, make its own decisions, and remain ready for the day contact returns?

2. Test setup

The test uses a flight-representative rack with multiple cells running operational software. Ground contact is simulated as a schedule of passes and blackouts. The platform must operate autonomously during blackouts. Faults and routine events are injected according to the matrix. Power, thermal, compute, storage, network, attitude, and service state are recorded continuously.

  • Whether contact was re-established cleanly.
  • Whether ground could reconstruct the platform’s state from downlinked logs.
